We have many habits that we take for granted, so much so that we don't realize they are habits at all. Small changes in ways of doing things that you bring back from places you visit can make big differences to how you enjoy your life at home, making you always feel like you're always on vacation, or that you never left that country at all.

Food have a tantalizing way of reminding you of the past. Even just tip-toeing out of your food comfort zone can reward you with tastes and combinations that you never expected, but can easily incorporate into a more daily routine. In highly processed food societies, we tend to forget the beautiful simplicity of wholesome ingredients.
